International Trade & Logistics Committee

International Trade & Logistics Committee

May 25, 2020

With the significant economic changes and the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic in the global supply chains, the Brazil California Chamber of Commerce (BCCC) launches today its newest (and most digital) sector-specific members-only group: the International Trade & Logistics Committee.

Led by Patrick Benedek, Principal at Benedek Law, BCCC Executive Vice President and Chair of the Committee, and Cleber Cuzziol, CEO at MV Risk Modeling Solutions and Committee Vice-Chair, and with a cohort of members representing freight forwarders, customs brokers, logistics operators, lawyers and other service providers, the Committee helps U.S. and Brazilian suppliers, buyers, importers and exporters connect, discuss and address the latest challenges and opportunities, and expand their global presence and sales. The group organizes meetings, events, seminars/webinars and trade missions providing invaluable information, connectivity and market access, while generating business leads and networking opportunities.

Among the main areas of attention, the Committee analyses trade trends and opportunities between U.S. and Brazil (with special attention to California), the trade negotiations between the U.S and Brazil, the countries' logistics infrastructure, insurance and cargo movement conditions, and gives a special perspective on the impacts caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The launch of the International Trade and Logistics Committee will take place on Thursday, May 28th, 12pm PDT via Zoom. Although the group is exclusive to BCCC members, this first meeting will be open to all interested parties so more people can engage with the participants and have a better understanding about the group's goals and objectives. In addition to the first live event, the BCCC International Trade and Logistics Committee is organizing a breakfast kick off event which will happen in September as part of the Southern California World Trade Week Calendar, organized by the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce - a BCCC Institutional Partner. The title of the seminar is “A Path to Boost International Trade Between Brazil and California”. Stay tuned for more details!
