The retail scenario in Brazil follows the expansion of the local economy. With 35 million people rising from poverty to middle class it is crucial to understand the opportunities and needs of different segments. The retail industry in Brazil is currently growing and offers many opportunities, but knowing how to navigate through the bureaucratic challenges, especially avoiding legal pitfalls, can be a major competitive advantage. Aside from covering the factors that favor the current Brazilian retail sector, this presentation also explores the most recent consumption behaviors of lower and upper income brackets of Brazilian society, discussing ideas on how these behaviors are affecting the bottom line of main industry players. Based on their extensive experience with actual cases, the speakers will also discuss the most common hurdles and challenges the Brazilian economy and market represent to new comers.

Currently, he holds the position of Partner at 7BrazilConsulting and lecturers on Global Marketing Strategy, Green Marketing and Sales Strategies at UCLA's Business and Management Executive Education Program. He is also a regular keynote speaker at UCLA, USC, The American Marketing Association, Brazilian Chambers of Commerce and other notable institutions.
